October 24, 1914: Brown vs. Cornell

100 years later @ Family Weekend

Brown men huddle against Cornell at the Polo Grounds in New York. Brown suggested use of uniform numbers, which, according to the New York Times, allowed spectators to, “follow each play with personal interest in the chief figures in the contest.” By 1922, use of uniform numbers was ubiquitous. At 12:30 p.m. today, Brown and Cornell kick-off at Brown Stadium in a Family Weekend contest.
