Brown President Ruth Simmons with Tougaloo College students, 2006
Participants at an Advisory Council Meeting, 2008
The Brown University – Tougaloo College Partnership (BTP) was formalized in 1964 during the Civil Rights era. It is designed to enrich both campuses through student and faculty academic and cultural exchanges, collaborative research ventures, and administrative level engagements.
There are Advisory Boards and Committees on each campus that govern and oversee all activities. These groups meet regularly to design projects and programs that continually reflect the needs of each institution and of society at large (for more information see Governance.)
Through our various program and projects, over 500 students and faculty have participated in the BTP since inception.
- To read a description of each initiative please see Programs.
