2014 Civil Rights Spring Break Trip At Tougaloo College

Application Deadline:

February 1, 2014

Description:

The Brown-Tougaloo Partnership is pleased to announce the opportunity for Brown students to apply to participate in a week-long Civil Rights Spring Break Trip at Tougaloo College. This trip will be led by Professor FranÒ«oise Hamlin of the Departments of History and Africana Studies at Brown. It is designed with two principal goals. First, students will have the rare opportunity to research, discover, and appreciate the rich history and culture of Mississippi (broadly) and Tougaloo (specifically), which will promote a better understanding of the nation as a whole through comparison. Second, the trip also promotes the historic Brown-Tougaloo partnership, now nearing the fiftieth year, and encourages Brown students to participate in a semester-long exchange at a later date.
