What to Know Before You Go to Madrid

Students selected to intern in Madrid are given a stipend of $5,000 to cover all expenses related to the internship. Thus, the students are responsible for booking and purchasing their own travel and renting a place to stay while in Madrid.
In terms of other travel-related arrangements, this internship does not require obtaining a visa for US citizens, nor are there specific immunizations required. BEO provides health insurance and emergency evacuation coverage for the duration of the internship abroad.
The internship itself takes place at IE's headquarters in Madrid. The IE foreign student office assists our interns in finding a place to stay.
Prior to going, BEO organizes a cultural orientation session with former interns a professor at Brown that has lived in Madrid.
Interns are expected to arrive in the office on a mutually agreed upon date where they will be introduced to their co-workers and receive their assignments.
