Campus Life & Student Services

The Campus Life and Student Services division offers a broad array of resources that allow students to extend and deepen their learning through civic engagement, cultural and religious examination, and participation in and leadership of an active network of student-initiated projects and organizations.

The departments within the division of Campus Life provide a range of services to ensure an outstanding educational environment for all students at Brown. The deans, doctors, faculty fellows, coaches, chaplains and hundreds of staff in the division help students lead healthy, productive lives.


News and Events:

J. WALTER WILSON HALL RENOVATION CENTRALIZES A NUMBER OF STUDENT SERVICES ANC RESOURCES:

The renovation of J. Walter Wilson Hall, across the street from Faunce House and the Third World Center, has created offices, seminar space, and new homes for a variety of student services and resources. Thirteen University departments are moving to J. Walter Wilson on a staggered schedule through August 16. By school start, J. Walter Wilson will house the following departments:

  • Brown Card office
  • Chaplains and Religious Life
  • Curricular Resource Center
  • International Programs
  • International Student and Scholar Services
  • Mail Services (not including the U.S. Post Office)
  • Psychological Services
  • Registrars Office
  • Rose Writing Fellows
  • Swearer Center’s College Advising Corps
  • Undergraduate Financial Aid
  • Venture Consortium
  • Writing Center

SEXUAL ASSAULT RESPONSE LINE:
The Division of Campus Life and Student Services announces that the Brown University Sexual Assault Response Line (863-6000) is now operational.  Phone this confidential line any time of the day or night to be connected to the University’s Sexual Assault Crisis Counselor, Emergency Medical Services, or the Department of Public Safety.


COMMITTEE ON RESIDENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

The Committee on the Residential Experience has issued its final report of findings and recommendations. The Committee’s charge was to examine how our campus supports the mission for undergraduate education. Recommendations cover facilities needs, faculty/student interaction, and residential programming and staffing. Download the report here.
