Accommodations

To foster a community learning environment, residential participants are provided a choice of on-campus accommodations – both within Brown University’s Vartan Gregorian Quad. Participants may choose to between single accommodations in an air-conditioned dormitory room or a room at the Saunders Inn at Brown. Please note: A limited number of rooms have been reserved at the Saunders Inn at Brown. These rooms are available on a first come first served basis until July1, 2008.

Dormitory accommodations are air-conditioned, single rooms located within a suite of up to 3-5 single rooms off of a common room. Bathrooms are shared single-sex bathrooms located on the hall.  Each bedroom has a single bed, pillow, dresser, lamp, desk, and chair. You will be provided with sheets, pillowcases, and a lightweight blanket. Please bring your own toiletries. Each dorm room has an Ethernet data port, and Brown provides wireless access in the rooms. The dormitory is non-smoking and no pets are allowed. Parking is available ($7.00/per car per night)

The Inn accommodations are located on the top two floors of a residence hall. The rooms are designed to provide comfortable on-campus accommodations for affiliated guests of Brown University. Single rooms have High-speed wireless internet access, Air-conditioning, Cable TV (basic campus cable), Iron & ironing board, Hairdryer, Coffee Maker / tea , Parking ($7.00/per car per night), All Inn rooms are non-smoking and there are no pets allowed. Meals
Residential students will be provided with a daily breakfast. All students (residential and non-residential) will be provided with dinner at a location to be announced.

Due to the intensive and community atmosphere created on campus, meal times will be shared with the faculty, guests, and other symposium staff, adding to the opportunities to discuss their work and enhancing the learning environment of the symposium.

Workshops, readings, and panels will be presented in a variety of venues on Brown University's historic and beautiful campus.

Special Note
The Program fee for residents is $1,838
(This includes the cost of the program, some meals and accommodations)
The block of rooms reserved at the Saunders Inn at Brown will be held at this rate until July 1, 2008.

After this date only rooms in the dormitory will be available at this rate.

If you register before July 1, 2008 please indicate your preference for either the INN or the Dormitory.
