How to Apply

Enrollment as a Special Student must be approved on a semester by semester basis. Enrollment does not imply admission to candidacy for a degree. Students interested in admission as a graduate student should make inquiries either to the Graduate School or the Brown Medical School. No financial aid is available for Special Students.

The following materials should be submitted as part of your application for Special Student status at least one month prior to the start of the term.

1) Completed application form (with specific course # and title indicated)
2) Official transcript(s) from the college/university from which you received your baccalaureate degree. (Applicants are invited to submit transcripts to document higher degree study as well.)
3) Statement describing your interest in taking coursework at Brown University
4) Letter of recommendation from an individual who can testify to your academic interests and your level of commitment to those interests.
5) A $75 application fee
