A Typical Day
Please note that each course meets at different times during the week and
might deviate from the general outline below.
Monday – Friday
Students are in classes with Brown undergraduate students taking summer
session credit-bearing courses. Classes begin on Monday, June 18.
There are no classes on Tuesday, July 4 due to the Independence Day holiday.
7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Breakfast is served in one of Brown’s dining halls
9:00 a.m. – 12 noon. Classes in session
11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Lunch is served in one of Brown’s dining halls
1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Classes in session
Tuesday – Wednesday – Thursday
Workshops on college success skills such as managing a college course load
and taking effective notes are offered at 11:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Students are
encouraged to take advantage of these workshops when they are not in class.
The workshops topics are repeated throughout the 7-week summer program.
Evenings
Activities and events are available most evenings to students in the residential
program and commuters. Workshops on the college admission process,
guest lectures, documentary films, yoga classes and much more take place

Note: Students are expected to attend class on time and be prepared to actively participate in class discussion. Participation in scheduled extra-curricular activities is not mandatory. Students may find that they have free time during the week and are expected to manage their time appropriately.
Weekends
The weekends heat up with popular social activities such as dances,
Karaoke, talent shows, poetry slams, and block buster films.
Trips to popular nearby destinations such as Boston, Newport,
Rhode Island area beaches, and shopping outlets take place on
Saturdays and Sundays.
College Visits
Students are invited to go on scheduled visits to nearby selective colleges and universities on Saturdays. Priority is given to rising high school seniors. Space is limited and reserved on a first come basis. Students are strongly encouraged to reserve a space in advance of each trip. Information about how to reserve your space for college visits will be provided when students arrive on campus for orientation.
