Typical Day

At BELL your classroom is the marine and coastal topography of Narragansett Bay and Brown’s Haffenreffer estate. University faculty will conduct some lectures and labs and you will spend a day on campus exploring all that it has to offer.
Each day is slightly different, but the basic schedule begins at 8 in the morning, ends at 10:30 in the evening, and includes field research, educational sessions, team-building and recreation time.

Highlights include:

• A day on a 45 foot research vessel with Save the Bay, a nationally-recognized environmental advocacy and education organization

• A day on campus in labs, libraries and meeting with Brown students

• A day on Brown University 's ropes course

• Two half-day sessions kayaking to nearby salt marshes

• Evening activities including campfires on the beach, ballroom dancing and outdoor recreation
