Science for Middle School Students

SPARK has a single goal: identify talented 7th and 8th grade students and give them access to the ideas, resources, and tools they need to nurture their academic gifts in the sciences.

SPARK is designed for young students who have demonstrated outstanding ability in science. We want to help students discover what is possible!

Identifying Talent, Opening Doors

SPARK will nurture students' love of science in a challenging but noncompetitive, stress-free environment. SPARK courses are specially created to expose the intellectual concepts of familiar topics that are part of the student's world. The result is an experience that's fun, engaging, and interesting to the student. SPARK strives to unlock the concepts and open students' minds so that they may be more focused, inquisitive, and cognizant of where their scientific curiosity and strengths might lead them in the future.

SPARK has no tests and no grades. The program is not about comparison or competition. The students who are accepted will already have demonstrated their academic talent. The program is designed to bring together groups of students with similar abilities and diverse backgrounds so that they may grow as individuals and cultivate their academic gifts in an environment that's safe, challenging, and most of all, fun.
