How to Apply

A complete application consists of five items:
Note: your file will not be reviewed by the Admissions Committee until all five items have been received.

1) An Application, choose course TA901-6A
(on-line or PDF Download)
2) A Teacher's Recommendation (Adobe PDF)
3) An official school transcript
4) The application fee (see below). International students: Because of the difficulty and expense of forwarding money internationally, we will waive the application fee until after an admission review.
5) An “on-camera” video interview (see below)

About the Video Interview
The video interview is your opportunity to give our faculty a sense of what you're all about as a person, so relax and be yourself as you respond on camera to all three of the following:

1) How did you get started in theatre?

2) How will you make use of your theatre training in the future?

3) Please share with us something about your passions and enthusiasms in areas that are NOT connected in any way to theatre or any branch of the arts.

Your recording should be only a few minutes in length. A simple head-and-shoulders shot that allows you to talk directly into the camera should be sufficient. No student will be accepted without a video interview. Video clips from productions may not be substituted.

Instructions for submitting your Video Interview:

Preferred Method – Online:
The preferred method for submitting your Video Interview is via the web. You may upload your video clip to your personal web site, or to a video hosting web site such as YouTube.com. Once you’ve uploaded your video, submit the URL (web address) via email to summerapply@brown.edu, with the subject: “TheatreBridge Video Interview: Your Name”. Remember: the privacy of your video posting is up to you – you do not need to publish this file publicly, but you must submit a valid web address where the review committee can access your interview.

Alternate Method – DVD:
Although we prefer online submissions, we will accept DVD versions of your Video Interview. Please submit two (2) copies of your DVD-R disk (i.e. two identical disks) to the address below. Your DVD must be readable on a Macintosh computer or on a standard American DVD player. It is imperative that you submit two copies of this audition. We also request that you clearly print your name on the DVD surface with a permanent marker. Please be certain to record your audition in DVD-R format.

Once we have received your complete application, our admission committee will review it and make a decision as quickly as possible. You will be notified of the decision by email. We do not read incomplete applications, so check with your school to be sure your recommendations and transcripts were sent to us. Forms can be mailed or faxed to:

Financial Aid

The March 7th deadline to apply for the Dean’s Scholarship has passed.

Each year, limited financial aid is available on a first-come, first-served basis, to high school students who have demonstrated financial need. Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States and have submitted a complete application by the deadline.

Our scholarship fund is limited. As a result, we cannot guarantee that all students who apply before the deadline will receive aid. Awards are made until the funds are depleted. We encourage students to apply as early as possible.
