How to Apply

Please use the undergraduate application.

For your 1st course option, choose RUSS 1060/0250 for beginning level Russian language, culture and history OR RUSS 1060/0350 for intermediate level Russian language, culture and history (if you have previous Russian language experience).

For your 2nd course option (if you desire) select RU 525 for the optional weekend excursion to Moscow. This trip requires a minimum of 4 participants. There is an additional charge for this long weekend (transportation, some meals, lodging and entrance fees included).

Visiting undergraduates must submit a current transcript.

Space in the international programs is limited. Enrolled students must comply with travel regulations for the student visa.  To secure your space in the program, apply on-line and complete the Student Summer Abroad Acceptance Form (both sides) and return it to SCS with a non-refundable $300.00 program deposit. You may submit your on-line application, the acceptance form, and the deposit no later than February 29, 2008.  In addition, you must complete the Russian Visa Request Form and return it with a clear, scanned copy of the inside paged of your passport (with photo showing).  The Russian Visa Request Form and the scanned copy of your passport can be emailed to summerabroad@Brown.edu.  These items are due by February 29, 2008.

Please note that spaces will be filled on a rolling basis as the acceptance form and deposit are received and that programs may fill well in advance of the application deadline.

This program will not be confirmed to run until after the application deadline.  Therefore, you should not purchase tickets at this time. When the program is confirmed to run, you will receive an email confirmation and a reminder to submit your visa application and required forms by April 1, 2008.  Tickets may then be purchased since your itinerary is required as part of the visa application process.

Please contact summerabroad@brown.edu if you have any questions about your application.

The first required orientation meeting will be at 3:00PM on March 12 in the SCS Office.

The required travel documentation (see forms and information on the web site) must be submitted by 12PM on April 1, 2008. Return the completed forms and your deposit to the Office of Summer & Continuing Studies, 42 Charlesfield Street, Providence, RI 02912
