Pre-Registration and Pre-Reg Fair
Dear first-years,
Today’s email has a lot of information related to the upcoming pre-registration period for Semester II, so please read carefully.
* Pre-Registration for Semester II *
Pre-registration for spring semester classes is a little over two weeks away. First-years can begin to register for Semester II courses on Friday, November 4, at 8 a.m.; you’ll need a new alt-PIN to pre- register, so make sure you meet with your advisor and Meiklejohn before the 4th.. Use Course Scheduler to develop a list of courses that interest you and bring that list to your advising meetings.
Another great advising resource is the Pre-Registration Fair, hosted by Meiklejohn peer advisors. The Fair takes place on Wednesday, October 26, from 5:30-6:45 p.m. in Sayles Hall, and Meiks from most concentrations will be there to talk about second semester courses and concentrations.
* Chem 0330 Placement Exam *
If you’re considering taking CHEM 0330 next semester, you must take the online placement exam. The test will be available in Banner October 17-November 8.
* Design your own course! *
Did you know that you can design your own course and get credit for it? Did you know that the Open Curriculum results from a student-designed Group Independent Study Project (GISP)? Sound interesting? Stop by the Curricular Resource Center (Campus Center 228) to learn more, or go to http://brown.edu/Administration/Dean_of_the_College/crc/independent_studies/gisp.php. Application deadline for second semester student-designed courses is November 4 at 5:00 p.m.
* Orientation Survey *
Okay, we know you’re busy… but take a moment to fill out the Orientation evaluation: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ZG7FNLK. Filling out the survey automatically enters you into a random drawing for a free pizza party, which wouldn’t be too shabby right around this point in the semester.
