Pre-reg for fall, Sophomore Advising, Brown Summer School

Dear first-years,

Spring break is around the corner! When you return to campus it will be April, and time to think about pre-registration for next fall.

Pre-registration

First-years can pre-register for Fall 2012 courses beginning on April 19 at 8:00 a.m. Remember that you will need to meet with your advisor and Meiklejohn and get a new Alt-PIN in order to register.

Sophomore advisor

After break, we’ll ask you to confirm your sophomore advisor, via an online form. Most students continue with their first-year advisor into the sophomore year, but some request a different instructor or administrator with whom they’ve made a connection. Give some thought over break to what will work best for you, but remember that your sophomore advisor doesn’t need to be someone in your intended area of concentration—the best pre-concentration advisor is someone with whom you can have helpful and candid conversations.

Take a summer class at Brown!

Summer classes at Brown can improve your academic standing and count toward your 30-course graduation requirement. This year we're offering over 50 courses, from anthropology to visual art. If you take four summer courses at Brown (no more than two in any given summer), you can also earn a semester of enrollment credit!
