Richard Bungiro
Lecturer in Biology
Dr. Bungiro received his Ph.D. in Pathobiology from Brown University in 1999 and returned as a faculty member in the the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology in 2008. In between he conducted research in parasitology at the Yale University School of Medicine. At Brown he teaches courses in immunology, infectious disease and vaccine science and also serves as a concentration advisor for Biology programs. In 2010 he was honored for his teaching by the graduating senior class with the Barrett Hazeltine Citation. In addition to his academic interests, Dr. Bungiro volunteers at an animal shelter close to his home in Connecticut and enjoys spending time with his children, Alex and Lilly.
