Brown University requires payment of tuition and fees by August 1 for Term 1 and by January 1 for Term II . Charges applied to the student account during the term will be due upon receipt of the monthly electronic billing statement. Students expecting to receive a degree are required to settle their accounts in full to retain eligibility for receipt of a diploma.
Late Payment Charges:
Students who fail to make payment in full by prescribed deadlines are assessed a late payment charge of 1.5% per month on any unpaid balances.
Delinquent Student Accounts - Financial Holds:
Outstanding balances greater than $1,000 will prevent a student from pre-registering for any subsequent term and may jeopardize their continued enrollment with the University. The University also reserves the right to refuse to furnish grades, transcripts, certificates, diplomas, letters of honorable dismissal or recommendation for students who fail to pay their student account balances.
