Claudia Goldin


Claudia Goldin is a professor of economics at Harvard University, a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and the program director for the Development of the American Economy. In her research and writings, Goldin focuses on a wide range of areas including the female labor force, slavery, immigration, education, and the wage structure. She currently serves on the editorial boards of the Quarterly Journal of Economics and The Review of Economics and Statistics. Previously, Goldin was a visiting fellow at the Brookings Institute, the editor of the Journal of Economic History, and the vice president of both the American Economic Association and the Economic History Association. She is a fellow of the Econometric Society and of the American Academy of Sciences. She has published numerous articles and edited and written several books, including Understanding the Gender Gap: An Economic History of American Women (1990).
