Stephen Moore


Stephen Moore is the director of fiscal policy studies at the Cato Institute. Before joining the Cato Institute, Moore worked as a senior economist at the Joint Economic Committee as an assistant to Representative Dick Armey. From 1983 through 1987, Moore served as the Grover M. Hermann fellow in budgetary affairs at the Heritage Foundation. In addition, he has served on two presidential commissions -- as a special consultant to the National Economic Commission, and as research director of President Reagan's Commission on Privatization. Moore is a contributing editor to the National Review, and a regular contributor to The Wall Street Journal, Human Events, and Readers Digest. Moore has appeared on such TV shows as "NewsHour with Jim Lehrer" and "NBC Nightly News." He is the author of three books including: Privatization: A Strategy for Taming the Deficit (1988) and Government: America's #1 Growth Industry (1995).
