George H. Nee


George H. Nee joined the Rhode Island AFL-CIO to serve as its executive director in 1983 and was elected secretary-treasurer in March 1991. Prior to his post at the AFL-CIO, he served as the full-time president of the Service Employees International Union, Local 76, from 1976 to 1983. Before that, Nee was the director of the Rhode Island Workers Association. As an organizer, he was actively involved with the United Farm Workers from 1969 to 1972. In addition, Nee is the chairman of the RI Advisory Council on Workers' Compensation and serves on the Human Resource Investment Council.
