French Film Festival organizers have made two schedule changes

Editors: Organizers have made two changes in the previously announced schedule for Brown’s annual French Film Festival at Cable Car Cinema. Please update any listings based on our news release number 00-079, distributed February 9.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Organizers have made two changes to the previously announced schedule for the annual French Film Festival, which will open Feb. 22 and continue through March 4, 2001:

Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m
A screening of director Olivier Assayas’s HHH: A Portrait of Hou Hsiao Hsien (1997) will replace the previously scheduled Les glaneurs et la glaneuse.

Thursday, March 1 at 5 p.m.
Assayas’s Une nouvelle vie (A New Life, 1993) will be shown in lieu of HHH: A Portrait of Hou Hsiao Hsien.

Twenty French language films, as well as two short subjects, all with English subtitles, will be screened at the Cable Car Cinema, 204 South Main St., over the course of the 11-day festival. For a full schedule of the screenings, visit www.brown.edu/news or call the News Service at (401) 863-2476.
