Vice President

Marisa Quinn assumed the job of Vice President for Public Affairs and University Relations on August 1, 2008.

Quinn is the senior officer responsible for advancing the University’s activities in public affairs and media relations, including Web communications, University events and the Office of Government Affairs and Community Relations. Quinn also serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet and Executive Committee.

Previously, Quinn served as assistant to the president at Brown, and as director of community and government relations before joining the President’s staff in 2003. She is a former legislative aide to Senator Claiborne Pell; policy advisor to New Jersey Governor Jim Florio; chief of communications and public information at the Rhode Island Department of Elementary and Secondary Education; and public affairs specialist at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Quinn received a B.A. in political science from the University of Rhode Island in 1986, and an M.A. from the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University in 1991.
