DPS Communications Center Temporarily Moves to 75 Charlesfield Street

Announcement of the relocation of the Department of Public Safety Communications Center from 75 Waterman Street to the 3rd floor of DPS Headquarters and Administrative Offices on 75 Charlesfield Street.

As of Monday, August 17, 2009, the Department of Public Safety Communications Center will be moving from its present location (75 Waterman Street) to its temporary location on the 3rd floor of 75 Charlesfield Street. 

 The Communications Center will continue to be staffed by Communications Control Officers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at its temporary location and will also continue to handle all emergency and routine calls to the Department of Public Safety.  However, it will no longer be accessible to the general public.

 

About DPS Headquarters and Administrative Offices:

The Department of Public Safety Headquarters and Administrative Offices are also located at 75 Charlesfield Street (between Hope and Brooke Streets).  Administrative offices are open during normal University business hours, 8:30a.m. to 5:00p.m. Summer hours are 8:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.  The front lobby at this location is accessible to the general public. Walk-in inquiries, concerns, and reports are welcome on a 24-hour basis.  A campus phone is available in the lobby and can be utilized to contact the DPS Communications Center should a shift supervisor not be available at the window to assist you.

DPS Police and Security Officer presence in the area of 75 Waterman Street will not change and patrols will continue as normal.
