Brown Public Safety is committed to maintaining a safe and secure campus environment and believes that a well informed community is an integral component in achieving that goal. Therefore, the department has in place the following mechanisms to promote awareness about public safety services, crime awareness, and safety education:
- 2012 Annual Security Report
- Campus Safety Notifications and Alerts
- Weekly Incident Summaries
- Crime Awareness Publications
In accordance with the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990(also known as the Clery Act), Brown University, through the 2011 Annual Security Report, is making available information regarding campus security policies and procedures, as well as crime statistics reported to law enforcement agencies for the area where Brown University is located.
In October 2009, the Department of Public Safety administered a web-based Community Survey providing staff, faculty, students and others an opportunity to provide feedback to DPS on the topics of Services Rendered and Performance Rating; Crime Prevention and Community Relations; and Perception of Agency and Employee Performance.
