Dear Members of the Brown Community:
The Brown and the Economy web site was established to keep the community informed about the impact the economy is having on Brown and to communicate the University’s ongoing response efforts. As you navigate through these pages, you will find information on Brown’s finances, actions that have already been taken to address the decline in our revenues, and steps we expect to take in preparation for FY2011.
Sharing information in a timely and thorough way will be important throughout this process. The web site will be updated as new information becomes available, and I very much hope it will be useful in this effort.
The year ahead will be challenging for all of us. We will continue to ensure that we are positioned to support the University’s core mission of teaching, research and service, and to preserve the progress and momentum we have made through the Plan for Academic Enrichment.
