Joseph


Joe is a long time practitioner of Chinese Martial Arts. He has studied with some of the world’s foremost instructors of Tai Chi Quan. As well as the martial and health aspects of Tai Chi, Joe also incorporates Chinese medical theory, philosophy and metaphysics into his teachings. The classes are fun, instructional and an excellent workout for both the mind and the body.

Kimberly


As a young person Kimberly was a competitive skater until the age of 18 when she began teaching while in school to earn her BFA in Sculpture. She is a registered U.S. Figure Skating instructor and is insured through the Professional Skaters Association. Her coaching career includes students of all levels from first timers through USFS Senior level testers. Aside from sharing her talents as an ice skating instructor, Kimberly is the proprietor of a millinery shop, studies iaido and is an accomplished equestrienne.

Shay


Shay's experience and passion for tennis and squash is truly one that enables his students to have a strong foundation in developing their talents. As Shay would say "I'm old enough to know the wonderful games I teach in Physical Education. Trophies are around somewhere, but not enormous ones." He believes that these sports nicely combine exercise, fun, and satisfaction.

Esther


Esther Kurtz (Violinha) has been training capoeira for six years. She began training capoeira Regional in the Hague, the Netherlands, and has since trained with Mestres in Amsterdam and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Since 2009 she has trained exclusively with Mestre Deraldo at his school in the Boston area. She is now pursuing a PhD in ethnomusicology at Brown University, concentrating on Brazilian music and movement forms.

Calango


David Fischer (Calango) has been training with Mestre Deraldo for over 12 years and graduated as a Professor in 2011. Over the course of his discipleship, Calango regularly traveled to universities and events to assist the master in demonstrating and teaching this beautiful art. Calango has also visited Brazil on two separate occasions to study Capoeira Angola in its native land.

Dr. Li Wang


As a specialist in Chinese philosophy and religion, especially Daoist inner alchemy, Dr. Wang is also a veteran master of Chinese internal martial arts and Qigong (meditation). He began to practice martial arts at a very young age and studied from several leading Chinese masters. For the past over 20 years, Master Wang has developed a most complete Taiji program in North America with totally 600+ students. He also taught all levels of other Chinese internal arts and Qigong. This is the first time Dr. Wang offers a formal Bagua Zhang class for Brown community. He will be glad to share his extensive knowledge and skills with internal arts enthusiasts.
