The Physical Education Department is happy to offer you a number of exciting options for physical activity! A single membership (PURCHASE HERE) will give you unlimited access to the Nelson Fitness Center, PE classes, and the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center (swim test required) :

Nelson Fitness Center

The Nelson Fitness center was officially opened in May 2012 and features state-of-the-art fitness equipment. There are more than 85 cardio pieces, selectorized, plate-loaded, free weight equipment, and a dedicated stretching area.

Bear's Lair

New to Pre-College is access to the Bear's Lair, a satellite fitness center located in the basement of Graduate Tower E on the corner of Thayer and Charlesfield Streets. The Bears Lair has Treadmills, Ellipticals, Spin Bikes as well as free weights and machine defined equipment. More info HERE

PE Classes

Body Sculpt: Body Sculpt is designed to shape and tone the body without building muscular size or bulk. This sculpting class will help retain lean muscle tissue, boost metabolism, and perfectly tone large muscle groups.

Bootcamp: A high-intensity cardio and strength and conditioning class incorporating steps, weights, jump ropes, medicine balls and much more to train every part of your body. Tighten & tone while getting an invigorating cardiovascular workout.

Cardio Circuit: Improve cardiovascular fitness with challenging circuit training exercises while increasing muscular strength. Mix up your routine with new & exciting exercise that will keep your mind & body guessing.

Pilates: Build a longer, leaner, physique with Pilates mat work. The Pilates method helps to lengthen and strengthen muscles and balance the musculoskeletal system. The exercises focus on core strength, torso stability, and mobility of the limbs. Pilates practice will improve your posture, body awareness, strength, flexibility, and balance.

Spin: Cycle your way through challenging terrain. Whether jumps, climbs, rolling hills, or sprints, you will feel exhilarated. Spin improves cardiovascular fitness and increases overall strength. Ride your way to the top to FEEL the POWER.

TRX: TRX suspension training is a new & exciting workout providing the ultimate total body experience. Workouts are designed to improved overall strength, flexibility, and core stability. (This class class meets on the 2nd floor in Garonzik Fitness Area)

Yoga: Acquire flexibility and a sense of well being through classical yoga postures. Improve your concentration and enjoy mental peace and tranquility through relaxation technique. Breathe better to renew energy and vitality.

Yoga/Pilates: A movement system that combines yoga and pilates. This technique involves stretching and strengthening the entire body. This class is the perfect blend of your favorites.
