Varsity Use of the Indoor Tennis Courts
Varsity use takes priority at the indoor tennis courts. During the weekday the varsity block is always 230pm-7pm. The varsity team will most often play matches on the weekends. Please review the following info about varsity use:
-When the weather is pleasant, in most cases, matches will be outside and the indoor courts will be open for contract use
-During inclement weather (and the winter months) the tennis teams will play matches indoors
-Weekend pricing is lower due to anticipated time lost for these matches
-We do not reimburse for time lost due to varsity matches on weekends
-We try to determine 24-48 hrs prior to a match whether they will be inside or outside and the attendants schedule will reflect their decision. However sometimes last minute decisions have to be made, so court time may be removed with little or no notice.
How do I know if Varsity will stay indoors or be outside?
Three ways to check:
1) By clicking the following link
https://spreadsheets.google.com/a/brown.edu/ccc?authkey=CJffg54N&hl=en&key=tf2H9_cFgRfR33w6lou4baw&hl=en&authkey=CJffg54N#gid=0 you can find a master schedule for varsity matches. Please be proactive and reference these schedules!
2) Register at
www.browntennisreservations.com. Here you can see real time updates of court scheduling. If your court time says ‘reserved’ then your court time is intact. If it says ‘Varsity Match’ then a varsity team will be using your time.
3) Call the tennis office the day before/day of (401-863-1313). Make sure to call before 2:30pm or after 7pm if a weekday. You may also email browntenniscourts@brown.edu however a phone call is probably your best bet.
