Brown Women's Ultimate

Disco Inferno

We are a group of frisbee-loving, hard-running ladies holding it down in Rhode Island. Disco Inferno is Brown University's A Team, and we compete throughout New England and the USA. We value the disc(o), we hate the word calm down, and we embrace the wind! Reach out with any questions and follow us on Twitter.

Cosmic Rays

Cosmic Rays is Brown University's Women's B team. We strive to be an inclusive, supportive, and competitive team. We welcome players of all skill levels, whether or not you know how to make this weird circle-like thing spin, or if you have the smoothest O's in town. All we ask is that you commit to playing hard and joyfully with your fellow CoRays. Shoot us an email if you have any questions, and we hope to see you at practice soon!

Pembroke Field, 171 Cushing St., Providence, RI 02912

What is Fall League?

The Brown Women’s Ultimate Frisbee program strives to be a welcoming, fun, inclusive, goofy, and safe community for all Brown and RISD students. During every fall semester, the Women’s Program hosts a Fall League Frisbee Program. Fall League serves to welcome new and returning players into the program by teaching the fundamentals of frisbee and offering an opportunity to play with members from all the Women’s teams.

Practices are held twice a week on Pembroke Field. The practices are run by our Fall League Captains. They focus on frisbee fundamentals, playing amongst a crowd of both “newbies” and “returners” from both of our teams, Disco Inferno and Cosmic Rays. All are welcome and encouraged to come, regardless of ability to commit to regular practices or play a full season. Just bring some water and clothes (ideally bring both a light colored and dark colored shirt) you’re comfortable running in—we’ll have cleats available to borrow if you don’t own a pair.

As the fall semester progresses, any player can opt-in to attend several fun tournaments, including Brown’s own annual tournament, Huck a Hunk of Burning Pumpkin.

In addition to the Fall League practices twice a week, Disco Inferno, the Women’s A-team, runs a weekly supplemental practice for players looking to learn the sport faster or to play within a more competitive atmosphere. These practices are also completely open to anyone at any level of experience! Tryouts for Disco Inferno will occur during the fall, and more information will be disseminated throughout Fall League.

Come play frisbee in the beautiful New England autumn weather! It doesn’t matter if you’ve never thrown a frisbee before or if you’ve played for 4 years in high school–you’re completely welcome and encouraged to swing by. Hope to see you there!
