Areas of Interest:
My research interests include social stratification, identity formation, and social movements. The relation between language and power with its various social dimensions are also of a great interest to me. For my MA research I conducted fieldwork in rural Rajasthan in India last summer. I worked with the ‘low’ caste communities and tried understanding their identity negotiation processes in a context of postcolonial state, neoliberal forces, and caste value continuities.
