Principles and Design of Iterative Coding Systems

Thomas Richardson, Flarion Technologies:

Thursday December 5 4:30 pm, Princeton University, Friend 101:

Iterative techniques are finding wide ranging application in signal processing. Techniques and ideas which underlie iterative systems emphasize certain features of information and communication theory. In this talk I will discuss some some aspects of iterative coding from both a theoretical and practical perspective in the context of designing such systems. The talk will focus on LDPC codes and Turbo codes, but I will also present a real-world design of a turbo-equalizer for a non-coherent wireless channel.
