Directions for Visitors to Geological Sciences (GeoChemistry & Lincoln Field Buildings)
By Plane - T. F. Green Airport is located about ten miles south of Providence. The most economical mode of transportation to the campus is by shuttle (Airport Limousine Co.), which leaves the airport on the hour and arrives on campus about 15 minutes later.
By Train/Bus - The train terminal is located in Providence's downtown district. From there, you should take a cab to campus. The Peter Pan bus terminal is located to the north of downtown and provides a free shuttle to Kennedy Plaza. From there, you can either walk "up the hill" (about 10 to 15 minutes), or take a bus or cab to campus.
By Automobile - to the Visitor Parking Lot*

To get to the Geological Sciences Main Office from the Visitor Parking Lot: On foot: walk back up Waterman Street (west towards the main campus). Turn left (south) on Thayer Street. You will pass Brown's tallest building, the eight-story concrete Sciences Library. The next building you'll see ahead on your left is a modern red brick building called MacMillan Hall, home for Geological Sciences, Environmental Science, and Chemistry. From the sidewalk, take a left onto the walkway heading towards the MacMillan Hall entrance (image below). Enter MacMillan Hall and walk along the long, curved glass hallway until you see a display case with rock samples on your left. The entrance to the Geological Sciences Department is through the double-red doors on your left, immediately after the rock case. The Department of Geological Science's administrative office is in GeoChem (GC) 101, the first door on your left once you go through the double red doors.
To get to the Lincoln Field Building (the Planetary Geosciences group) from the Visitor Parking lot: On foot: walk back up Waterman Street (west towards the main campus). Turn left (south) on Thayer Street. You will pass Brown's tallest building, the eight-story concrete Sciences Library. After about half a block, on your right, you'll see a tall archway (Soldier's Arch). Take a right off Thayer Street and walk under the arch to enter Lincoln Field. Follow the left sidewalk around the green to the three-story, red brick stand-alone building called "The Lincoln Field Building" (image left). Once inside, go past the staircase and through the ground floor door. The administrative person in Lincoln Field room 106 can assist you upon arrival.
