"Imagine a young South African male who, because of his wealthy political connections, has been given the run of a select wine farm in the Winelands of the Western Cape. He is bored with his beautiful young wife, who has not succeeded in providing him with any offspring, and is surrounded by the sexual freshness of the many ‘sisters, cousins and aunts’ of his farm and office workers. In particular, he decides to upstage his detested cellar master by seducing the man's desirable and clearly virginal soon-to-be wife before the marriage can be consummated…"

SOME OF OUR AUDIENCE FEEDBACK:
" I very much enjoyed the performance: the production was original, the Cape Town students were wonderful,
and the venue was first rate."
"This performance was so perfect, I can't describe it... We feel so fortunate that we found out about this performance. 5 stars"!
"Beautifully sung, cleverly staged, movingly acted. .. Somehow, having only the piano as accompaniment and no supertitles in English concentrated focus on the opera itself. It was a splendid evening — kudos to Cogut Center! — and a lovely introduction to the new Brown arts center."
It was one of the best opera experiences I've ever had!"
