Visiting Professors in the Humanities
Academic year 2008-09 saw the inauguration of an exciting new program of Visiting Professors in the Humanities. The Cogut Center selects four faculty members, two for each semester, from other colleges or universities to come to Brown. These faculty members may be assistant, associate or full professors at their home institutions.
These scholars must be committed to innovation in disciplinary and transdisciplinary studies. Visiting Professors teach one senior seminar during their semester at the Cogut Center. They have an office and the option of participating in various center programs.
Proposals from Brown University faculty to the Governing Board should include a letter outlining the nominated scholar's profile and distinction.
