The Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World plans to establish a new publication program in the near future. This series will be focused on dissemination of the results of conferences and workshops held under the Institute’s aegis, on fieldwork reports and other scholarly studies by faculty associated with the Institute, and on the publication of archaeologial material in Brown collections.
The Institute’s predecessor, the Center for Old World Archaeology and Art (COWAA), published the series, “Archaeologia Transatlantica”, which has now ceased production. Volumes in this series that are still in print are available through the David Brown Book Store.
A number of papers by former faculty, students, and associates of the Center for Old World Archaeology and Art are available online, and may be accessed via the Online Publications pages.
Brown University is now one of the two editorial centers of the Journal of Mediterranean Archaeology, of which Institute Professor John Cherry has been a co-editor since 1990. The editorial forums for this journal are now served by Brown-based wiki sites.
