Thesis Wins Science and Technology Award
The Committee on Science and Technology Studies awarded three students for the best undergraduate thesis. Colin Fitzpatrick, a Music concentrator, was co-recipient of the prize for his innovative study of the social internet space Last.fm.
His project was Brown's first ethnomusicology honors thesis to be presented in an online multimedia format. Colin worked with Assistant Professor Kiri Miller, who advised him as he researched and wrote his interesting and thought-provoking study of the social and internal workings of the site.
