MEME Student Wins Dissertation Award
Kevin Patton, MEME Graduate Student, is recipient of a Joukowsky Family Foundation Outstanding Dissertation Award for 2010-11. His dissertation, "The Fault of Epimetheus: The Performance and Orchestration of Gestural Computer Music Instruments," was one of four chosen by the Graduate School each year.
Patton presented his work internationally as both a scholar and a performer. Advisor Butch Rovan described him as "very gifted as a writer and theorist of current performance practice and improvisation."
