Studying Czech and Czech-Related Courses in Study Abroad Programs

There are several opportunities to study Czech language and Czech and Central European cultures. Here are the major programs in which Brown students have participated in the past:

  • Brown in the Czech Republic
    Czech language and content courses in English (Central Eruopean history, art and architecture, politics; possibilities for natural sciences in the Czech Republic, music)
  • Information about direct enrollment (immersion programs)
    There are several possibilities for students who want to get enrolled in courses taught in Czech (immersion programs). Brown students have participated in the Czech Studies Program at Charles University in Prague and Masaryk University in Brno. For more information contact Prof. Fidler at the Slavic Department.
  • The Brown-approved Film Program through the American University
    The famous Film Academy in Prague that internationally known film directors like Milos Forman and Jiri Menzel graduated. Students produce films, animations, learn camera work, and work with young Czech future film-makers. Visit the Office of International Programs in Rhode Island Hall for more information.
