Open Repertory Opportunities

Open repertory opportunities, open to all Brown students, provide dancers with ad hoc opportunities to work with guest choreographers in diverse styles. Dancers audition for each choreographer depending on their personal interests and may perform only once during their time at Brown or as often as once a year. One of the goals in providing open repertory opportunities is to explore the many extraordinary languages of movement and to present works in modern, traditional, experimental, musical theater, jazz, ballet, and vernacular dance forms. Brown students have performed in works by legendary artists Talley Beatty, Martha Graham, Jose Limon, Milton Myers, and Charles Weidman, and have worked with guest choreographers Carol Abizaid, Paul Benney, Richard Colton & Amy Spencer, Seydou Coulibaly, Chris Elam '98, Mary Paul Hunter, Malik Lewis, Jessica Lutes '88, Bradon McDonald, Meida McNeal, Dante Sciarra, and Annamaura Silverblatt.
