Technology Tools for Teaching

In addition to the tools described above, there are many other tools to help you teach online. If you’d like to know how any of the tools are being used in other courses, just ask your instructional technologist.

Class Dating

You tell this tool when your class meets and whether or not you want your class to meet during the reading period. It returns the list of dates that your class will meet on and takes Brown holidays into account. You can then drop these dates into your Microsoft Word document to create your syllabus.

Sign-Up Center

An online way for students to “sign-up” for office hours, sections, presentation slots, labs, etc.

Custom Course Websites

In cases where you need web space outside of MyCourses for your course, we can help you get it.
