Five Guiding Principles to keep you
headache-free and your computer secure

The Internet can be a wonderful thing, putting worlds of information, images and ideas at your fingertips. It can also be a source of nasty malware, hackers and temptations.

But if you take some simple precautions, you can help keep your computer, data and identity safe and secure. Take a few moments to step yourself through these pages. They could save you much frustration, and maybe worse.

If you need immediate assistance, e.g., to report that your computer has been compromised, call the Help Desk at 3-HELP or write to help@brown.edu.

If you have any security-related questions, feel free to contact us at ITSecurity@brown.edu.
