C	CRITERIA:	The most general and least restrictive type of guideline, a criteria section is used to convey Brown’s preferences and requirements in terms of design guidance. Designated by a "C" after the section number in the document name.
P	PERFORMANCE:	Conveys Brown’s technical requirements for the section subject, and may include execution instructions. A performance section is used to establish quality and type for a product or assembly. If a list of possible manufacturers is provided it is to exemplify the required quality, and substitutions can be proposed for approval. Designated by a "P" after the section number in the document name.
PR	PROPRIETARY:	Conveys technical and quality requirements for systems or assemblies based on limited and specific acceptable manufacturers. Substitutions or deviations from the list in the guideline are not allowed. Designated by a "PR" after the section number in the document name.
S	SCHEDULE:	The most restrictive and most specific type of guideline. A Schedule section includes a product description, the single acceptable manufacturer, and in some cases by the product number. Designated by an "S" after the section number in the document name.
DD	DIRECTIVE DRAWINGS:	provide general guidance or schematic arrangements. Designated by a "DD" after the section number in the document name.
