Services for Brown and RISD

As a university teaching museum, staff at the Haffenreffer Museum is eager to work with faculty and students to put our collections of over 120,000 ethnographic and archaeological artifacts to use.  We provide learning opportunities for students at all levels and in any department. This page describes some of the programs we support. Please contact us for further information, or to propose other ways of putting the collection to use.

Faculty Services

Faculty in many departments at Brown and RISD make use of the Haffenreffer’s collections and staff expertise, and we welcome all Brown faculty to contact us: we can bring artifacts to your classroom or to our seminar space at the Museum at Manning Hall; provide advice on teaching using material culture; and provide space and assistance for class exhibitions. ¬†Click the link above to learn more.
