2005 Those Who Can, Do

Laura Kepley served as an Artistic Associate and Resident Director for five seasons at Trinity Repertory Company directing The Clean House, Shapeshifter, The Syringa Tree and co-creating (with Deborah Salem Smith) and directing the world premiere docudramas Boots on the Ground and Some Things Are Private. Other projects include Breadcrumbs (Contemporary American Theatre Festival) The K of D (The Kennedy Center and Orlando Shakespeare Festival), George Brant’s shop talk (Drama League’s DIRECTORFEST), Falling Up (Perishable Theatre), Elephant’s Graveyard (The University of Texas), productions in the New York, Seattle, and Philadelphia Fringe Festivals, and several plays in Chicago. Laura directed workshops of new plays for Play Penn, Naked Angels, WordBRIDGE Playwright’s Lab and the Public Theatre and assistant directed at Actors Theatre of Louisville, The Alliance Theatre, The Court Theatre and NY City Center Encore Series. Laura is a 2008 Drama League Directing Fellow and a recipient of the 2009-11 NEA/TCG Career Development Program for Theatre Directors. For the past year she has served as the Interim Head of the MFA Directing Program for Brown University/Trinity Rep where she received her master’s degree.
