Ken is a professional director, dramaturg, playwright, and theater producer and has created new work in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, England, Scotland and elsewhere. In 2007 his new play As American As was developed at the Bay Area Playwrights Festival in San Francisco. His play AmeriKafka was widely acclaimed in its run in Chicago in July 2005. Ken has programmed literary arts programs in Prague and Mexico and was a co-producer of the Performance Studies international conference at Brown University in 2005. He is the former artistic director of the Apprentice Company. He first started teaching the art of ensemble theatre under Joseph Chaikin’s direction, and is presently the Associate Chair of Playwriting at the Yale School of Drama.
