Anne
S.K. Brown Military Collection. Over 13,000 individual
prints, drawings, paintings and water-colors, the earliest dating
from the 16th century. Over 1000 paintings, drawings and water-colors
depicting World War Two by artists who served in the United States
armed forces. The graphics are arranged by country and within each
country are sections containing battle and campaign scenes, portraits,
caricatures, uniforms,
naval subjects, and genre scenes.
Annmary Brown Memorial Gallery
of Art
Broadsides
Collection. Over 40,000 broadsides (single-sheet
imprints), including many with illustrations. The collection also
includes posters, bookplates, prints, historical
greeting cards and postcards.
Bullard Napoleon
Collection Constitutes one of the largest collections
of caricatures of Napoleon in the United States, and represents
the work of English, French, German Russian, and Spanish artists.
Gorham Company Archives. Archival
records of the company founded in 1831 by silversmith Jabez Gorham
of Providence, Rhode Island. The collection features many thousands
of drawings and photographs of Gorham products, reflecting American
taste from Victorian times to the present.
Koopman Collection. Includes photographs and
prints of literary figures and scenes.
McLellan
Lincoln Collection. Includes most of the known photographs
of Lincoln, engravings, and Currier & Ives prints. There are
also original oil portraits by artists of Lincoln's day, some original
drawings, as well as a scrapbook of Thomas Nasts's Civil War sketches.
Persian,
Mughal, and Indian Miniature Paintings from the Minassian Collection
Rhode Island Prints & Photographs.
Includes portraits and views. Supplemented
by a collection of approximately 2,000 cartes de visite.
Stow
Wengenroth Lithographs
University
Archives. Over 46,000 photographs of campus scenes, buildings,
groups, events, student activities, and individual faculty members,
students, and alumni. Over 100 class albums owned by graduates from
1857 to 1904. The Robinson Collection of athletics depicts 125 years
of Brown athletics.
In addition to the collections named above Special
Collections contains a wealth of illustrated books, periodicals
