Význam:
aféra kolem Rudolfa Slánského, blízkého spolupracovníka Gottwalda. Slánský patřil k předním představitelům totalitního režimu. V roce 1951 byl odvolán z funkce generálního tajemníka KSČ, byl zatčen a roku 1952 byl odsouzen a popraven jako „hlava protistátního spikleneckého centra”. V roce 1963 byl rehabilitován.

The Slánský affair. Rudolf Slánský was one of the most important figures in building the totalitarian regime in Czechoslovakia. He, however, became the victim of the regime himself; in 1951 he was removed from the post of General Secretary of the Czechoslovak Communist Party, and in 1952 was sentenced to death and executed as the leader of anti-state conspiracy. He was rehabilitated in 1963.
