ECI Quick Start Fund

Rolling Requests

The Environmental Change Initiative has limited funding available to support small, short-term projects with the potential to increase future research prospects. The goal is to allow faculty and graduate students to take advantage of time-limited opportunities to build new interdisciplinary collaborations or expand their ability to conduct research bridging to other disciplines. Typical uses might include travel funds to explore possible collaborations, attendance at a workshop that teaches new techniques, attendance at an interdisciplinary conference, or funding to collect pilot data for a proposal.

Quick start proposals should not exceed $2500 and will be received on a rolling basis. Funds will be awarded at the director's disgression, based on the project's potential to generate new research ideas or collaborations.

To apply, please write a letter to the ECI director describing your project, the expected outcome, how it aligns with ECI's goals, and a budget.
