How to make an appointment

Brown students can make a appointments for confidential consultations with Health Education staff on a range of health issues. All Health Education services are available at no charge to Brown students.

Nutrition

One-time and ongoing confidential appointments are available with Annie Buffington, the Health Education nutritionist.

Alcohol

Brown students can make confidential appointments to discuss alcohol or drug use with a health educator. These are available to students both as self-referrals and for students referred by a provider or advisor or as the result of an EMS call.

Sexual health

Brown students can make an appointment with Naomi Ninneman, Health Educator, for confidential discussions of sexual health topics including STIs and STI testing, safer sex, contraception, and pregnancy. Call 401-863-2794 or e-mail Naomi_Ninneman@brown.edu to schedule an appointment. If e-mailing, please include days and times when you would like to try to schedule your appointment.

Sexual assault response & prevention

Bita Shooshani, Coordinator of Sexual Assault Prevention and Advocacy, is available to help students affected by sexual violence and abuse in a relationship. Confidential services include support for a survivor or the friends of a survivor, help exploring options to address the incident (such filing a complaint, if that is the student's choice) and educational programs for the student community. When you speak to Bita, you do not have to pursue any specific course of action and no action will be taken unless it’s something you choose.
