Welcome to the home page for the Brown University
housing lottery
The housing lottery is the process by which most students choose where they will live during the upcoming year. Students enter the lottery in a group and select actual housing on the night of the lottery.
Participating in the lottery is easier and much less stressful if you and your group plan in advance and research your options. This website contains all the information you will need in order to prepare for this year's lottery.
Click on the links above to get started. Go to the General Info page for information about the lottery and a timeline of important dates. Check out the Room Info page for resources the council has put together to help you research and prepare. The Office of Residential Life's Lottery Page has important information about lottery policies and procedures, and you should also explore that website.
If you have any questions, you can e-mail us at lottery@brown.edu.
