The purpose and mission of the Office of Staff Diversity is to:
- Provide leadership and direction for diversity
- Cultivate respect and inclusion, and encourage mutual understanding, acceptance, and fairness to all
- Help the University community value and appreciate differences and similarities
- Advise and assist the community in establishing and maintaining an environment free of discrimination, harassment, and sexual harassment

- Champion Diversity
- Coach, mediate, and resolve conflict
- Identify hiring and retention strategies
- Investigate complaints and recommend solutions
- Provide Sexual Harassment, Discrimination, and awareness and prevention
- Serve as the University Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Officer
- Support services for people with disabilities
