Diversity and Inclusion

The purpose and mission of the Office of Staff Diversity is to:

  • Provide leadership and direction for diversity 
  • Cultivate respect and inclusion, and encourage mutual understanding, acceptance, and fairness to all 
  • Help the University community value and appreciate differences and similarities 
  • Advise and assist the community in establishing and maintaining an environment free of discrimination, harassment, and sexual harassment 

Major areas of Responsibility

  • Champion Diversity 
  • Coach, mediate, and resolve conflict 
  • Identify hiring and retention strategies 
  • Investigate complaints and recommend solutions 
  • Provide Sexual Harassment, Discrimination, and awareness and prevention 
  • Serve as the University Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Officer 
  • Support services for people with disabilities
